John Frieda Full Repair Haircare Range

Wednesday, December 03, 2014

So today I had a slight hump day,  I got up early for a parcel that after hours of waiting I found out wasn't arriving today and by then I had a headache and got into bed for the rest of the day and completely writ the day off, but one thing I did keep noticing was that my hair was feeling really soft...

For me this is a big thing because although I add oil and sheen to my hair, my natural hair is actually curly and dry, so it's quite rare for me to be noticing that it feels smooth and touchable. A few weeks ago I changed my shampoo and conditioner, I went up in the world! Don't get me wrong I didn't break the bank, but slightly moved on from my previously blogged about bargain hair care (which was still fab for the price) but I've now purchased a few products from the John Frieda range.

John Frieda are known mostly for their 'Frizz Ease' range, but this time I opted to try out some of their 'Full Repair' collection.

I went for the Hydrate and Rescue Shampoo and matching Conditioner.

The product claims to moisturise hair without weighing it down, and in my opinion that's exactly what it does. The Shampoo and Conditioner contain Inca Inchi Oil rich in Omega-3, which is an edible oil, so you know that stuffs got to be good for you!

I love the way the shampoo really lathers on your head, it reminds me of a bubble bath but for your hair, this leaves my hair feeling thoroughly cleansed and ready for the conditioner, which again is as soft as anything and covers every strand of hair. I like to leave this on for as long as possible, which usually ends up only being a few minutes or so as I'm always in a rush, but the feeling of rinsing out the conditioner is like heaven! My hair feels so thick while im rinsing it through, and I also try to use coldish water to finish, as its helps with closing your cuticles after washing your hair, it's always good to wash in warm water to open the cuticle while shampooing and conditioning.

As you can also see I use the John Frieda brush from the 'Full Volume' range. I loveeee blow drying with this hair brush, it's so easy! The brush gets warm from your dryer, increasing the speed that it takes to dry your hair, and you can create flicks inwards or outwards, whatever your preference is, and it can also replace the need to use a straightner or curling iron depending on your hair type, which in turn is less heat on your hair, so it's a win, win situation! I also noticed that my hairdryer used to constantly overheat, but the hot air has space to flow through the brush as it has numerous holes all over, stopping the heat from bouncing back into your dryer.

Don't get me wrong, due to the nature of my hair,  I still get a lot of bad hair days, as the slightest humidity can reach it and it will get bigger and bigger, and in the rain it's like I've stuck a wig on, it's so different! But you know what, I've learnt to appreciate the hair I have officially been blessed with, and I actually like it! I remember the day I wouldn't step out the house without 20" extensions in, and as much as I still would love my hair to be 10x longer,  I'm actually okay with it! It's growing (slowly) but at one point it was as short as my ears because I stupidly spent a couple of months bleaching it (professionally but still very damaging) so I'm getting there!

After the chop many years ago!

Deffo loving my tan & super white teeth in this pic though!

I for sure can't wait to try the rest of the range.

The Full Repair Hydrate and Rescue Shampoo and Conditioner I purchased is 250m and retails at £5.99 each, other sizes, prices and offers are available depending on where you shop.

The Thermal Round 48mm Brush retails at £12.49

Thought I'd leave you with a lil video I send my mum every week after I've washed my hair! This started off because the song used to always come on as I was finishing my hair, so now I try to make it a ritual! Plus it's one of my Mum's favourite songs, Taylor Swift - Shake It Off!

Enjoy!

Muchos Love,

Chanelle
